Alone in the Rain She Stood

Alone in the rain she stood. Alone she thought she must be. Alone she always was.

She used the rain to hide her fears, hate, and insecurities

One downpour could wash fears from her mind

Scattered showers could rinse hate from her soul

Short sprinkles could extinguish insecurities from her heart

Alas, the shelter thought to be in each drop of rain long ago diminished

Alone in the rain she stood. Alone she thought she must be. Alone she never was.

He used the rain to reveal her boldness, compassion, and capability

One downpour exposed the boldness of her thoughts

Scattered showers sprouted compassion from her soul

Short sprinkles brought to light the capability of her heart

Fortunately, the worth uncovered in each drop of rain would forever magnify

Together in the rain they stood. Together she knew they must be. Alone she never was.
